Severe Winter Storm Forecast for Canada, Nov 29, 2024

A significant winter storm is anticipated to impact Canada starting tonight and lasting through Sunday. The northern coastal regions, particularly Stewart, have already recorded snowfall amounts between 40 to 55 centimeters this week. An additional 40 centimeters of snow is expected between Saturday night and Monday.

The weather office has indicated that this snowfall will transition to freezing rain on Monday, followed by heavy rainfall on Tuesday and Wednesday, raising concerns about potential flooding.

Environment Canada has issued a rainfall warning for the central coast, predicting over 150 millimeters of rain before Saturday night. Snowfall warnings remain in effect across much of British Columbia's Interior, although these warnings are expected to ease as the weather system progresses eastward. However, another significant snowfall event is anticipated on Saturday.
