Winter Storm Expected in Colorado, Nov 3, 2024

On November 3, 2024, a winter storm is anticipated to impact Colorado, particularly the Front Range and mountainous regions. A Winter Weather Advisory will be in effect from 11 AM Sunday until 11 AM Monday, predicting snowfall accumulation between 3 to 10 inches in the mountains, with the heaviest snowfall expected over mountain passes.

In addition, a Winter Storm Watch is issued for the Wet Mountains and the Sangre de Cristo Mountains, where snowfall could reach 8 to 14 inches from Sunday night through Monday morning. The Front Range foothills are likely to see 3 to 8 inches of snow, predominantly in the southern foothills.

In the Denver metropolitan area, snowfall amounts may vary from half an inch to 3 inches, with the most significant accumulation in the southern and western parts of the city. Areas north of Denver may experience less than an inch of snow.

Rain showers are expected to begin in the metro area on Sunday evening, transitioning to snow overnight into Monday morning, potentially complicating the Monday morning commute. Snowfall is projected to cease around midday on Monday, leading to clear and dry conditions on Election Day with daytime highs in the 50s. Another storm system from Canada is forecasted to arrive on Wednesday, bringing colder temperatures and additional snowfall to the Front Range, with highs expected in the 30s.
