Multiple tornadoes struck central and southern Oklahoma early on November 3, 2024, causing significant damage and injuries. The National Weather Service issued warnings at 1:23 AM as storms swept through eastern Oklahoma City towards Midwest City and Tinker Air Force Base.

Reports indicate that over 300,000 residents were under tornado warnings. Images from the aftermath revealed homes stripped of siding, overturned vehicles, and downed power lines. Six injuries were reported, all non-life-threatening, primarily around SE 89th & Sooner Rd.

Residents described terrifying experiences, with one couple recounting how they were awakened by the sounds of destruction. Reports suggest the possibility of up to 13 tornadoes, with the National Weather Service confirming EF-2 damage in the Valley Brook neighborhood, indicating wind speeds between 111 mph and 135 mph.

As of Sunday morning, over 50,000 Oklahomans were without electricity. The storms also caused extensive damage to Newcastle Elementary School, where the roof was completely torn off. The Oklahoma City Fire Department reported widespread structural damage, including fallen power lines and traffic lights.

Heavy rainfall is expected to continue throughout the day, with flash flood warnings in effect for several regions in southern Oklahoma. Meteorologists predict that severe thunderstorms will persist into Monday, posing ongoing risks to the affected areas.
