Canada's landmark steps toward official recognition of UFOs and further research into these phenomena

In January of this year, a report with recommendations from the Sky Canada Project was published and submitted to the Government of Canada, aimed at improving the management of unidentified aerial phenomena (UAP) sightings across the country.

The Sky Canada Project, led by the Office of the Chief Scientific Advisor of Canada (OCSA), was initiated to review current practices related to public reporting of UUFOs in Canada

Key recommendations include:

A framework for coordination: the report recommends a structured approach to managing NVN surveillance, increasing transparency, and combating misinformation.

Public engagement: measures to encourage pilots and aircrew to report sightings without fear of stigmatization, addressing the lack of coordination in reporting.

Public awareness: according to the survey, only 10% of people report sightings and 40% do not know who to contact.

Scientific approach: the report emphasizes the need for serious, objective study of HCVs, regardless of their nature, to collect reliable data.

Creating a specialized structure: the most important recommendation in the report is that the Canadian government "create a specialized service" to manage and analyze NVL data.

The initiative is prompted by increased public interest and the emergence of formal procedures for managing surveillance and research on HCV in countries such as the United States.

The full report will be published when finalized, an important step in Canada's approach to unexplained aerial phenomena.
