Among the dignitaries present were heads of state such as Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev of Kazakhstan, and William Ruto of Kenya. The UAE President welcomed attendees, emphasizing the importance of collaboration in addressing sustainability challenges and advancing innovative solutions.
Sheikh Mohamed highlighted the UAE's commitment to sustainability as a fundamental aspect of national strategy, showcasing efforts to harness advanced technologies for energy transformation and economic growth. The ceremony featured the UAE national anthem and a film illustrating the integration of artificial intelligence in the energy sector.
Dr. Sultan bin Ahmed Al Jaber, Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology, delivered the opening address, praising the UAE's achievements in renewable energy and nuclear power, and announcing plans for a mission to the asteroid belt. He underscored the UAE's leadership in AI and space exploration, attributing these advancements to the vision of the UAE President.
ADSW 2025 is themed 'The Nexus of Next: Supercharging Sustainable Progress,' and will host a series of discussions and forums aimed at fostering systemic change across various sectors. The event will culminate with the Masdar City Festival, celebrating innovation in sustainability.
