Kremlin Offers Gas Supply to Energy-Stricken Transnistria Amid Ongoing Crisis

The Kremlin announced its readiness to supply gas to Transnistria, a breakaway region of Moldova, following a cutoff earlier this month that has left the area in an energy crisis.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov indicated that while Moscow is prepared to assist Transnistria, logistical actions must be taken by the Moldovan government to facilitate the gas supply. There are currently no details regarding the timeline or method of resuming supplies.

Transnistria has faced a lack of heat and hot water for over two weeks, exacerbated by Russia's decision to halt gas supplies on January 1 due to a debt dispute with Moldova.
