On November 30, 2024, the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office announced the arrest of 23 individuals as part of two separate investigations into terrorism-related activities. Among those detained are Sevtap Akdağ, Co-Chair of the Democratic Regions Party (DEM), Nimet Tanrıkulu, a founding member of the Human Rights Association, and Remzi Çalışkan, General President of the General Labor Union.

The prosecutor's office reported that a total of 47 individuals were taken into custody during these operations. The investigations focused on suspected affiliations with the FETÖ/PDY terrorist organization and the PKK/KCK terrorist group.

According to the statement, out of 35 suspects linked to FETÖ/PDY, 33 were apprehended, resulting in 14 arrests, while 12 were released under judicial control. In the case of the PKK/KCK group, 14 out of 15 suspects were captured, leading to 9 arrests, with some released on health grounds or under judicial control.

The detained individuals include notable political and civil society figures, raising concerns regarding the ongoing crackdown on dissent in Turkey.
