Terapia's 1 MW Solar Station Launches Energy Transition

Date: January 15, 2025, Romania

The installation of a 1 MW solar power station at Terapia's Cluj Napoca facility has been completed. The new system is projected to cut conventional energy use by 10-15% and reduce carbon emissions by 746.8 tons of CO2 equivalent annually.

This project, executed by Energobit and co-financed through the National Recovery and Resilience Program, is a key element in Terapia's renewable energy strategy.

As part of its sustainability plan, Terapia plans to install two additional solar systems and advanced energy storage solutions, aiming for over 60% of its energy needs to be met by renewable sources. By 2026, the company targets a reduction of its carbon footprint by 2,987 tons of CO2 equivalent per year, achieving a total installed capacity of 3 MW.

Terapia, Romania's largest manufacturer of generics and specialty drugs, has been a part of Sun Pharma since March 2015, contributing to a portfolio that spans over 2,000 medicines distributed in more than 100 countries.
