Telangana is set to establish itself as a global leader in artificial intelligence with the launch of a 200-acre AI City in Hyderabad. This initiative, spearheaded by Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, aims to enhance the state’s economy, education, and governance through innovative partnerships.

The AI City is designed to attract major corporations, research institutions, and startups worldwide, fostering an environment of technological advancement. With 26 Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) signed with industry leaders like Microsoft and Nvidia, the project focuses on key areas including computing infrastructure, skills development, and generative AI.

In collaboration with Meta, the initiative will leverage open-source Generative AI technologies to enhance e-governance and improve public service delivery. This partnership is expected to significantly boost government efficiency and address local needs.

To prepare future generations, Telangana plans to integrate AI education in 5,000 schools by 2027, training 20,000 teachers and impacting 500,000 students. This forward-thinking approach aims to create a tech-savvy workforce ready to meet global challenges.

The state’s roadmap includes providing AI services to over 10 million citizens, focusing on sectors like healthcare and agriculture, while also establishing data annotation hubs to support national AI needs. Ethical governance remains a priority, with measures in place to combat misinformation and ensure responsible AI development.

Chief Minister Revanth Reddy asserts, “Hyderabad is ready to lead the AI era,” emphasizing Telangana’s commitment to setting global standards in innovation and economic growth. With plans to provide substantial office space for AI-focused companies, Telangana is poised to become a $3 trillion economy and a hub for sustainable growth.
