Orange has announced a partnership with Stredoslovenská distribučná (SSD) to accelerate the rollout of fiber internet services in Central Slovakia. This collaboration will leverage existing distribution infrastructure, enabling customers to access stable and fast internet connections along with additional digital services, including television streaming. This significant step simplifies the availability of fiber internet for households and businesses in regions previously lacking these services.
According to Eric Maintenay, Chief Technical Officer at Orange Slovakia, the goal is to provide reliable, high-speed fixed internet to an increasing number of households and businesses, enhancing connectivity and supporting digital growth in the region.
The initiative also boasts ecological benefits, as utilizing existing infrastructure minimizes the need for excavation, reducing environmental impact and expediting network deployment. This approach allows for broader internet access while contributing to sustainable development.
This expansion follows a successful collaboration with Východoslovenská distribučná (VSD) in Eastern Slovakia, which enabled high-speed connections to previously underserved areas.
Orange's fiber internet offers speeds of up to 1 Gbit/s, ideal for demanding online activities such as streaming, gaming, and remote work. New customers can take advantage of a special offer, enjoying internet and television services for up to six months free, along with access to HBO and the Max application. After the promotional period, customers can continue to enjoy these services at competitive rates starting from 33 euros per month.
For those who do not require television, there is an option to receive up to four months of internet service without monthly fees, along with access to the Max application. This offer is available for new customers who activate a medium or higher internet package with a 24-month commitment.
Additionally, customers can bundle mobile and fixed services through the Love package, providing discounts for the duration of their combined services. This offering positions Orange favorably against local providers, who often deliver only partial solutions. Another benefit is the Online Protection at Home service, ensuring connections are not only fast but also secure.
Orange continues to invest in expanding its fiber network to cover as many areas in Slovakia as possible, allowing a wider customer base to access its high-quality digital services.
