Microsoft has partnered with Meta to bring Windows 11 to the Meta Quest headsets, specifically the Quest 3 and Quest 3S models. This integration will allow users to utilize an adapted Windows interface in an expanded reality environment.
Users can access Windows 11 either through the cloud via Windows 365 Cloud PC or by connecting the headset to a Windows 11 computer. A public preview of this feature is expected in December.
Microsoft will also introduce Volumetric Apps, specially designed for 3D spaces, enhancing usability in virtual reality. This initiative aims to bolster productivity on Meta's Quest devices, which have struggled to gain traction in the VR market.
