Samsung Electronics is partnering with Alphabet Inc. to enter the augmented reality (AR) glasses market, marking a significant move into a growing product category.
This collaboration follows their recent partnership on Project Moohan, announced in December, and aims to develop AR glasses as part of their joint efforts on the Android XR operating system.
Roh, head of Samsung's Mobile Experience division, confirmed that while a specific launch date for the AR glasses has not been set, both companies are focused on achieving the desired quality and readiness as soon as possible.
Additionally, Samsung is set to unveil the Galaxy S25 family, integrating Qualcomm's SnapDragon chipset across its devices for enhanced performance and security. The new Galaxy AI tools will leverage large language models to improve user experience, including offline capabilities for text generation and photo editing.
With a comprehensive software update plan and advanced security features, Samsung aims to solidify its position in the AI smartphone market, hoping to replicate its success from 2024 with the Galaxy S25 and next-gen Galaxy AI.
