Hanoi Hosts Smart City Conference, Emphasizing AI and Sustainable Development

Key officials, including Hanoi's Deputy Chairman Ha Minh Hai, highlighted the conference as a vital platform for discussing digital transformation solutions and enhancing cooperation in technology.

Hai emphasized the need for innovative solutions in areas like artificial intelligence, smart transportation, and clean energy to build sustainable urban environments.

He referenced a recent statement from General Secretary To Lam, underscoring the necessity for a digital revolution to restructure production relations and drive development.

Nguyen Van Khoa, Chairman of VINASA, noted Hanoi's commitment to sustainable development despite challenges, citing significant achievements like extensive 5G infrastructure and a growing number of digital health records.

As of 2023, 48 out of 63 provinces in Vietnam are advancing smart city initiatives, with 902 urban areas nationwide, indicating a 42.7% urbanization rate.

Looking forward, Hanoi aims to become a leader in digital transformation by developing a smart city framework that integrates advanced technologies, including AI and IoT, to enhance public services and quality of life.
