Google Launches AI-Powered Air Quality Tool in India

New Delhi, November 20: Google has launched Air View+, an artificial intelligence-based solution aimed at providing hyperlocal air quality information across India. This initiative seeks to address the country's escalating air pollution issues.

Air View+ is designed to assist government agencies, local climate tech firms, and citizens by delivering real-time air quality data. According to Google, this tool will enhance urban planning and environmental monitoring by offering valuable insights to municipal corporations.

The service integrates data from various sources, including sensor networks, government data, satellite imagery, and weather patterns, to generate a dynamic Air Quality Index (AQI). This model has been tailored specifically for India, aligning with the National Air Quality Index standards.

Users can access AQI information through Google Maps by selecting the Air Quality layer. This feature aims to help vulnerable populations, such as children and the elderly, take necessary precautions to safeguard their health.
