Abu Dhabi Launches First Vertiport for Sustainable Tourism

Abu Dhabi is set to launch the UAE's first trial vertiport, marking a significant advancement in sustainable transportation. The Advanced Mobility Hub (AMH), in partnership with the Smart and Autonomous Systems Council, aims to enhance tourism through innovative transport solutions.

The vertiport will facilitate air tours over iconic attractions and support both passenger and logistical needs with electric vertical take-off and landing (e-VTOL) vehicles. Mohamed Salah, CEO of Multi Level Group, emphasized that this initiative will elevate the cruise experience for tourists while minimizing environmental impacts.

The project has received all necessary approvals and is expected to stimulate technological innovation, positioning Abu Dhabi as a leader in autonomous transportation. The collaboration with AD Ports Group underscores the emirate's commitment to smart transport and self-driving technology.

Noura Rashed Al Dhaheri, CEO of Cruise Business at AD Ports Group, noted that the vertiport will enhance eco-friendly travel options for cruise passengers, showcasing Abu Dhabi's dedication to sustainable tourism.

In addition to tourism, AMH is exploring the use of e-VTOLs for cargo logistics, aiming to reduce operational costs and carbon emissions. The integration of AI solutions will further support logistics operations.

As Abu Dhabi embraces advanced mobility solutions, the vertiport trial sets a precedent for sustainable travel, attracting environmentally conscious travelers and establishing the emirate as a model for future urban transport innovations.
