Pakistan's Space Agency to Collaborate with China's Chang'e 8 Mission for Lunar Exploration

Pakistan's Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (SUPARCO) announced its rover will participate in China's Chang'e 8 mission to explore the Moon's surface in 2028.

The rover is set to land at the Moon's South Pole, an area known for its rugged terrain and potential scientific discoveries. This marks the first instance of Pakistan's local efforts collaborating with a foreign mission.

Weighing approximately 35 kilograms, the rover will contribute to scientific studies, including lunar surface mapping, soil analysis, and testing new technologies for human habitation on the Moon.

SUPARCO emphasized that this mission exemplifies the strong bilateral relations between Pakistan and China, as both countries pursue collaborative exploration in space.
