The Mexico City government has announced tax benefits aimed at supporting vulnerable residents as part of the 2025 Budget Package. Xóchitl Bravo, the coordinator of the Morena party in the city's Congress, emphasized that these measures are intended to alleviate the financial burden during the post-holiday period.

Bravo encouraged residents to take advantage of the new fiscal measures, which are expected to enhance urban living conditions without straining family finances. The government plans to utilize tax revenues to maintain urban infrastructure and various services, positively impacting residents' quality of life.

Among the new benefits, elderly residents will only pay 65 pesos bi-monthly for property taxes if their homes are valued under 2.7 million pesos. Property owners in vulnerable groups will receive a 50% discount on their bi-monthly tax rates. Additionally, discounts of 8% and 5% will be offered for early payments made in January and February, respectively.

For water supply, a 50% discount will apply to vulnerable households on their bi-monthly bills. Furthermore, owners of vehicles and motorcycles valued under 250,000 pesos will be exempt from vehicle ownership tax, only needing to pay a registration fee of 731 pesos, provided they have no prior debts.

Bravo reiterated that the fiscal code approved by Morena legislators this year was designed to alleviate economic burdens on taxpayers, particularly during January.
