The Billboard Women in Music 2025 event is set to celebrate the profound impact of women on the music industry on March 29 in Los Angeles. This year's edition will recognize JENNIE from Blackpink and the group aespa as leading figures in K-pop. Other honorees include Gracie Abrams, Ángela Aguilar, Tyla, Erykah Badu, GloRilla, and Meghan Trainor. The ceremony will be hosted by Laverne Cox, with tickets available starting February 12. K-pop has dominated the music scene and Billboard charts, with women at the forefront. aespa, named Group of the Year, has consistently broken records, recently concluding a world tour. Their hits "Supernova," "Armageddon," and "Whiplash" have topped charts, making them the first female group to place six albums in the Top 50 of the Billboard 200. Gracie Abrams, recognized as Songwriter of the Year, has captivated audiences with her storytelling lyrics, achieving her first top 10 on the Hot 100 with "That's So True," peaking at number 6. Ángela Aguilar, receiving the Rising Star Award, has quickly established herself in the music industry with three albums, including "Primero Soy Mexicana" (2018), "Mexicana Enamorada" (2021), and "Bolero" (2024). Tyla will receive the Impact Award for her hit "Water," which has become a global representation of African musical influence. Erykah Badu, honored with the Icon Award, has left an indelible mark on music over decades, inspiring artists across genres with timeless classics like "Love of My Life (An Ode to Hip Hop)" and "Bag Lady." Meghan Trainor, celebrated as the Hitmaker, continues to create chart-topping songs like "All About That Bass," "Dear Future Husband," and "Made You Look," with her latest release, "Criminals," making waves. GloRilla, a Powerhouse recipient, is also making waves. Following her debut album "Glorious" in October, she made her Saturday Night Live debut and earned two Grammy nominations for Best Rap Song and Best Rap Performance for "Yeah Glo!"
