Behind the glitz and glamour of the hit teen drama "Gossip Girl," a different kind of drama was unfolding. While Serena van der Woodsen and Blair Waldorf navigated their complicated friendship on screen, rumors swirled about the real-life relationship between actresses Blake Lively and Leighton Meester.
Despite portraying best friends (and sometimes enemies), Lively and Meester were reportedly not close off-camera. Executive producer Joshua Safran revealed that the two actresses, while friendly, "were not friends like Serena and Blair."
Safran explained that Lively and Meester had different personalities. Lively was described as "very much in the moment," while Meester was "very removed and very quiet." Despite their differences, both actresses were professional and brought their A-game when filming together.
