Construction of a 240-megawatt battery energy storage system in South Australia is slated to commence in 2025. Canadian Solar's e-STORAGE secured a contract from Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners to supply battery energy storage systems (BESS) for the Summerfield project.

The subsidiary of Canadian Solar's CSI Solar will deliver over 200 SolBank 3.0 battery containers for the project, located in Summerfield, South Australia. The company will also provide performance and operational management services as part of a long-term service agreement.

According to e-STORAGE President Colin Parkin, this initiative will significantly contribute to South Australia's objective of achieving 100% renewable electricity generation by 2027. With over 1.5 GWh of BESS under construction in Australia, e-STORAGE is solidifying its position as a leading product and service provider in the region.
