President Donald Trump announced the lifting of long-standing US sanctions on Syria. This decision aims to give Syria "a chance at greatness". The announcement was made during a trip to the Gulf, where Trump also secured a $600 billion investment commitment from Saudi Arabia to the United States.
The U.S. and Saudi Arabia signed several agreements, including a $142 billion arms deal. The White House called it "the largest defense cooperation agreement" Washington has ever done. Trump praised Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, stating the US and Saudi Arabia were strengthening their relationship.
Trump also addressed the situation with Iran, expressing a desire to make a deal. He warned Iranian leaders that rejecting his offer would result in "massive, maximum pressure". Regarding the Israel-Gaza conflict, Trump emphasized that the people of Gaza "deserve a much better future".
