Saudi Arabia has announced a $600 billion investment in the United States. This announcement came on Tuesday during President Donald Trump's Middle East trip. The investment will focus on energy security, defense, technology, and access to global infrastructure and critical minerals.

According to Trump, the deal includes $142 billion for defense and security. This allows Saudi Arabia to purchase advanced American-made weapons. Trump's delegation includes cabinet members and business leaders, including Elon Musk.

The administration is reportedly more than halfway to its goal of securing $1 trillion in investments and deals from Gulf states during this trip. Qatar is expected to invest $200 to $300 billion. The UAE has pledged $1.4 trillion over the next decade.

During his speech, Trump announced he would lift sanctions on Syria. This decision follows the ousting of dictator Bashar al-Assad. Trump stated the sanctions were previously brutal and crippling, but now it's Syria's time to shine.

Trump is reportedly set to meet with Syria's new president on Wednesday. Trump maintains he wants to expand on the Abraham Accords. He aims to normalize Saudi-Israel relations, though movement is unlikely while the war continues in Gaza.
