Trump suggested "good proposals" for peace in Ukraine are coming soon. Moscow criticized the EU for prolonging the conflict. The Kremlin condemned Friedrich Merz's support for supplying Taurus cruise missiles to Ukraine, potentially targeting strategic sites like the Crimean bridge.
Moscow views supplying long-range weapons as a dangerous escalation. Dmitry Peskov stated the idea of providing Taurus missiles is destabilizing. Dmitrij Medvedev attacked Merz, calling him a "Nazi" and referencing his father's past.
The EU condemned the Russian raids. Kaja Kallas stated the real mistake was invading Ukraine and called for pressure on Moscow to end the war. Antonio Tajani emphasized the urgency of a negotiated solution.
Ukraine's Deputy Foreign Minister Andrij Sybiha accused Russia of responding to diplomatic efforts with attacks on civilians. He called for increased military support from Europe and stricter economic sanctions.
