China Imposes 34% Tariffs on US Goods Amid Trade War Escalation

China announced additional tariffs of 34% on U.S. goods today. This marks a significant escalation in the trade war with the U.S. China also announced controls on exports of some rare earth elements and filed a complaint at the World Trade Organisation. JP Morgan now estimates a 60% chance of a global recession by year-end.
