Germany Pushes for Swift EU Sanctions on Russia

Edited by: Татьяна Гуринович

Berlin is advocating for the rapid implementation of the 18th package of EU sanctions against Russia, according to German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock.

The minister stated that Germany is working to introduce the new sanctions as quickly as possible. She also expressed dissatisfaction with Russia's approach to negotiations with Ukraine, which were previously held in Istanbul.

EU's High Representative for Foreign Affairs, Josep Borrell, previously announced the possibility of sanctions against the Nord Stream 1 and Nord Stream 2 gas pipelines, as well as the inclusion of additional oil-related entities in the sanctions lists.
