Estonia to host Ukraine reconstruction conference in 2027

Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna presented to the Cabinet of Ministers the support of Estonia for the reconstruction of Ukraine in the coming years. He announced that Estonia will host a global conference on the reconstruction of Ukraine in 2027.

Tsahkna emphasized that Estonia's support for Ukraine is unwavering, as it is crucial for Ukraine's strength, resilience, and development. This is important not only for the Ukrainian people but also for the stability and security of all of Europe.

According to Tsahkna, the reconstruction of Ukraine will become one of the largest strategic economic projects in Europe in the next decade, and for the Estonian state and entrepreneurs, it is important to be part of this process from the very beginning.

Estonia has already allocated over EUR 42 million for the reconstruction of Ukraine since the beginning of the war. This year, EUR 11 million has been planned. Estonian reconstruction work is mainly carried out in the Zhytomyr region, but in some sectors, the whole of Ukraine is covered.

Since the beginning of Russia's full-scale war, Estonia has restored a kindergarten in Ovruch, a bridge in Malyn, and four family homes for families with children-orphans, and has organized the qualification of 162 senior officials of Ukraine.

Construction of the next family homes, multi-apartment houses for internally displaced persons in Ovruch and Brusylov, reconstruction of the youth center in Malyn, reconstruction of the hospital in Berdychiv, reconstruction of residential buildings in the city of Zhytomyr is underway.

Estonia continues to actively support the reconstruction of Ukraine, striving to ensure its sustainable development and security in the future.
