Lebanese PM Mikati and Syrian President Assad Address Border Demarcation, Detainees, and Refugees

Lebanese Information Minister Ziad Makary has confirmed that a government session was convened following Prime Minister Najib Mikati's visit to Syria. During the visit, Mikati met with Syrian President Bashar al-Assad in Damascus to discuss several critical issues impacting both nations.

Key topics included the demarcation of the border between Lebanon and Syria, aiming to resolve long-standing disputes. The leaders also addressed the sensitive cases of Lebanese detainees and missing persons in Syria, alongside the situation of Syrian prisoners held in Lebanon.

Prime Minister Mikati stressed the importance of finding resolutions to these issues. He also highlighted the necessity of creating conditions conducive to the return of Syrian refugees to their homeland, with the overall goal of fostering mutual respect and rebuilding trust between Lebanon and Syria.
