On June 26, 2025, Xiaomi officially launched its first electric SUV, the YU7, marking a significant expansion into the automotive industry. The YU7 is priced starting at 253,500 yuan (approximately $35,364).
The YU7 is positioned as a direct competitor to the Tesla Model Y in the competitive Chinese electric vehicle market. Within three minutes of the launch, Xiaomi received 200,000 pre-orders for the YU7, demonstrating strong consumer interest.
The YU7 boasts impressive performance, accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.23 seconds and offering a range of up to 835 km according to the CLTC cycle. Ultra-fast charging allows it to go from 10% to 80% charge in just 12 minutes.
