Britain Works with us to Maintain India-pakistan Ceasefire

Edited by: Татьяна Гуринович

Britain is collaborating with the U.S. to ensure the ceasefire between India and Pakistan holds. Foreign Minister David Lammy stated the importance of dialogue and confidence-building measures. This announcement was made during Lammy's visit to Islamabad.

Pakistan acknowledged the role of Britain and other countries, including the U.S., in de-escalating recent conflicts. These conflicts marked some of the worst tensions in decades between the South Asian rivals. A diplomatic effort successfully negotiated the ceasefire on May 10, though its stability remains uncertain.

Lammy urged all parties to adhere to their obligations regarding the Indus Waters Treaty. This treaty regulates the use of the Indus River system. He also affirmed Britain's continued collaboration with Pakistan in combating terrorism.
