U.S. and Ukrainian officials convened in Saudi Arabia on March 10 to resume negotiations regarding a ceasefire. This marks the first interaction between the two nations following a contentious meeting between Donald Trump and Volodimir Zelenski at the White House, which led to Washington suspending military aid to Ukraine.
The Ukrainian delegation, headed by Andriy Yermak, Zelenski's chief of staff, is scheduled to meet with U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio and other American government representatives in Jeddah on Tuesday. Saudi Arabia has been mediating between Ukraine and Russia. While negotiations proceed, Russian forces have reportedly intensified their offensive, launching ballistic missile attacks.
