U.S. and Russia Engage in Peace Talks in Saudi Arabia Amid Ongoing Conflict

U.S. and Russian officials convened in Saudi Arabia on March 24 for discussions regarding a potential peace agreement concerning the conflict. This meeting followed separate talks between Ukrainian and U.S. representatives held in Saudi Arabia. The Ukrainian Defense Minister described the discussions as "productive," focusing on safeguarding energy facilities and critical infrastructure. The negotiations between the U.S. and Russia took place in Riyadh behind closed doors. The Russian delegation included Grigory Karasin and Sergei Beseda, while the U.S. delegation comprised Andrew Peek and Michael Anton. Prior to these talks, discussions between Ukrainian and American delegations addressed key points, including energy security. Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelenski's objective remains to secure a "just and lasting peace" for Ukraine. Washington hopes for a comprehensive ceasefire agreement by April 20.
