A delegation of European Union leaders, including European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and European Council President Antonio Costa, arrived in Kyiv to mark the third anniversary of the large-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine. Von der Leyen stated, "Ukraine is Europe. This is a fight for the survival, not only of Ukraine, but of Europe."
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated his readiness to resign if it secures Ukraine's NATO membership and deters further Russian aggression. This comes in response to Donald Trump's criticism of Zelensky remaining in power without reelection due to martial law. Zelensky affirmed he was not offended by Trump's "dictator" label, asserting his legitimacy as an elected president.
Meanwhile, the Kremlin expressed satisfaction with the shift in U.S. policy towards Ukraine, deeming the dialogue between Vladimir Putin and the U.S. president "promising." Discussions between Russian and American diplomats are expected to continue, following a meeting in Saudi Arabia.
