The BG-EU MODEX 2025, a significant international flood management exercise, is being held from May 12 to 15 at the Center for Professional Training of Rescuers in Montana.
Over 200 personnel, including firefighters, rescuers, and volunteers from Bulgaria, Austria, Denmark, Germany, Spain, North Macedonia, and Slovenia, are participating in this exercise. The focus is on enhancing response capabilities and fostering cooperation in managing the consequences of large-scale floods.
Participating teams will demonstrate key skills such as water pumping and purification, as well as drone operation. An international team of experts will also be present to coordinate assistance under the Union Civil Protection Mechanism (RescEU). This exercise marks the eighth time that Montana has hosted such an international event, owing to its excellent facilities for simulating various disaster scenarios.
