Since 2023, the UAE has provided $600.4 million in humanitarian aid to Sudan, including a $200 million pledge made in Addis Ababa in February. The UAE deployed 162 aircraft and multiple ships, delivering 13,168 tonnes of essential supplies. In March, the UAE inaugurated the Madhol Field Hospital in South Sudan, a 100-bed facility under the International Humanitarian and Philanthropic Council, serving two million people. The UAE also pledged $100 million in April 2024 for humanitarian initiatives in Sudan and neighboring countries, and $10.25 million to the UN for Sudanese refugee women. A $4 million agreement with UNICEF supports Sudanese refugee education in Chad. The World Food Programme (WFP) aims to reach 7 million people with food and nutrition assistance.
