Uk and eu Leaders Meet to Forge New Strategic Partnership

On Monday, UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer met with European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and European Council President António Costa in London. The summit, the first since Brexit, aimed to establish a new strategic partnership.

Starmer emphasized the importance of moving forward and focusing on areas of mutual benefit. Discussions covered security, irregular immigration, energy prices, agri-food, trade, and border issues. The goal is to reduce costs, create jobs, and protect borders.

The meeting took place at Lancaster House, where both parties hope to finalize agreements on defense, security, fishing, and border management. Starmer reiterated the commitment to strengthening relationships with allies worldwide, including Europe.
