Nato members to target 5% gdp defense spending by 2025 summit

Washington, May 15 - U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced Thursday that NATO members aim to spend 5% of their GDP on defense within the next decade.

The agreement is expected to be finalized by the 2025 NATO Summit in June. Rubio made the announcement on Fox News' "Hannity."

German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul supports the increased spending target. The 2025 NATO Summit will be held in the Netherlands from June 24-25.
