Israeli forces conducted airstrikes on Houthi infrastructure in Yemen on Monday, May 5, targeting the port of Hodeida and a cement factory near Bajil. This action was a response to a recent rocket attack by the Houthis on Israel. The strikes, involving approximately 20 Israeli aircraft, aimed at facilities used by the Houthis for military purposes. The targeted port of Hodeida is allegedly used for transporting Iranian weapons and military equipment to the Houthis. The cement factory in Bajil, according to the IDF, serves as a site for constructing tunnels and military infrastructure. The Israeli military stated that the attack was a response to the economic regime and its military potential. Meanwhile, Yemeni media reported U.S. airstrikes near the capital city of Sanaa. The Houthi-controlled agency Saba claimed the strikes hit the El-Arbain street and the road to the airport, resulting in 16 injuries. The U.S. military has reportedly conducted over 800 attacks in Yemen, eliminating hundreds of Houthi fighters in an effort to halt attacks on ships in the Red Sea.
