Cuba Denounces Eu and Us Interference over Jailing of Dissidents

Edited by: Татьяна Гуринович

Cuba has denounced the European Union and the United States for what it calls interference in its internal affairs. This follows objections from the EU and the U.S. regarding the imprisonment of José Daniel Ferrer and Félix Navarro.

The Cuban Foreign Ministry issued a statement on Wednesday, April 30, 2025, rejecting the EU's call to review the decision to revoke the parole of Ferrer and Navarro. Cuba insists the EU's statement is meddling and disrespectful, questioning their right or moral authority on matters of national sovereignty.

Alejandro García, a Cuban Foreign Ministry official, stated that Cuba is not obligated to tolerate the U.S. Embassy acting as an anti-government activist. He accused the embassy of inciting citizens against their own country, violating the Vienna Convention on international relations.
