On April 8, both Ukraine and Russia reported conducting attacks using drones and missiles. The Ukrainian Air Force reported attacks by Russian drones and missiles, while the Russian Ministry of Defense claimed to have downed Ukrainian UAVs overnight.
According to the Ukrainian Air Force, Russian forces used 46 Shahed-type UAVs and unmanned aerial vehicles to complicate the work of air defense systems. They reported shooting down nine drones. Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovsk, and Donetsk regions were affected.
Earlier on April 8, Roman Mrochko, head of the Kherson city administration, reported a UAV strike on Kherson, which injured an 85-year-old man.
The Russian Ministry of Defense reported intercepting 23 Ukrainian drones over the Belgorod and Kursk regions on the night of April 8. On April 7, the governor of the Belgorod region, Vyacheslav Gladkov, reported that two 16-year-olds were injured in an attack by the Ukrainian Armed Forces and were hospitalized.
