Kyiv Under Drone Attack: Casualties Reported Amidst Diplomatic Efforts for Ceasefire

Kyiv experienced renewed drone attacks, resulting in at least three fatalities, including a five-year-old child, and ten injuries. The attacks ignited fires in residential and office buildings, with the air raid alert lasting over five hours. The Zaporizhzhia region was also hit by guided bombs, causing power outages and damage to private homes. Drone attacks were reported in Kharkiv as well. The Ukrainian Air Force reported a total of 147 Russian drones, with 97 intercepted and 25 failing to reach their targets. Russia's Defense Ministry stated that its forces intercepted and destroyed 59 Ukrainian drones, primarily in the Rostov and Astrakhan regions. However, a Ukrainian drone attack on the Rostov region resulted in one death. US officials are scheduled to hold separate talks with Ukrainian and Russian delegations in Saudi Arabia to discuss a ceasefire. These discussions follow a reported agreement between Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin for a 30-day suspension of Russian attacks on Ukrainian energy infrastructure.
