Xi Jinping Declines Invitation to EU-China Summit in Brussels

Chinese President Xi Jinping has declined an invitation to attend a summit in Brussels commemorating the 50th anniversary of EU-China diplomatic relations, according to the Financial Times. Instead, Premier Li Qiang is expected to meet with the presidents of the European Council and Commission. Tensions between the EU and China have increased since Russia's invasion of Ukraine, with the EU accusing China of supporting the Kremlin. The EU also imposed tariffs on Chinese electric vehicle imports last year.
