Ex-NATO Commander Urges Europe and Canada to Increase Support for Ukraine Amid US Aid Suspension

Sir Richard Shirreff, a retired British general and former Deputy Supreme Allied Commander Europe, has called on European nations and Canada to increase their financial and military support to Ukraine. This appeal comes after the United States suspended its aid to Kyiv. Shirreff stated that Europe and Canada must immediately "ramp up" efforts to fill the gap left by the US, including providing immediate financial assistance. He criticized Europe's past reliance on US security protection and suggested that it can no longer depend on Washington, citing the US vote alongside Russia and North Korea against a UN motion condemning Russia's actions.
