Iraq Invites Oil Companies to Baghdad to Discuss Resuming Kurdish Region Oil Flows

Iraq has invited international oil companies operating in the Kurdish region to a meeting in Baghdad next week. The meeting aims to help resume oil flows that have been halted for approximately two years. Producers from the Association of the Petroleum Industry of Kurdistan (APIKUR), along with officials from the natural resources ministry of the autonomous region, have been invited to the talks scheduled for Tuesday. The Iraqi oil ministry released a statement confirming this initiative. The talks will address issues related to existing contracts and seek agreements that align with international best practices for oilfield development while safeguarding national interests. The Kurdistan Region's Ministry of Natural Resources is also expected to participate in the discussions.
