Finland Announces New Military Aid Package Worth Nearly €200 Million for Ukraine

On January 31, 2025, Finland declared the provision of a new military assistance package to Ukraine, valued at approximately €200 million. The decision was made by President Alexander Stubb, as reported by the country's Ministry of Defense.

This marks the 27th shipment of military equipment from Finland to Ukraine. The replacement cost of the equipment in this package is estimated at around €198 million, bringing the total value of defense equipment provided by Finland to Ukraine to €2.5 billion.

Finnish Defense Minister Antti Häkkinen stated that this aid package was developed in collaboration with the Ukrainian side, emphasizing that the support provided is specifically aimed at helping Ukraine defend itself in critical situations on the front lines.

For operational reasons and to ensure the safe delivery of the aid, details regarding the contents, methods, and timelines of the assistance are not disclosed.

Häkkinen further noted, 'It is up to us, Europeans, to determine how security will develop in Europe. Ensuring the independence and defense capability of Ukraine is now the most important part of this whole matter.'
