In the Dutch city of Tilburg, a small safari happened again.

A domestic serval named Django on the morning of 5 September decided that life in the enclosure was somewhat overrated, and for the second time set off on his own to explore the residential area.

A serval is not an ordinary cat that ran off to the neighboring balcony. It is an African wild cat with very long legs, huge ears, and a weight of up to twenty kilograms.

Therefore, the police took Django's walk quite seriously.

Through the Burgernet system, residents were informed:

a serval is missing; if you see it, do not approach on your own, call the police.

Specialists in exotic animals were also involved in the search. It was assumed that the fugitive had not gone far and was somewhere examining neighbors' gardens.

The funniest thing is that Django had already been through all this.

In May of last year, he also chose freedom, traveled through other people's yards and roofs, and only after several hours agreed to return to civilization. Then the owner managed to lure him into a cage with meat.

That is, their relationship scheme is roughly like this:

— Django, come home!

— No.

— And if there's meat?

— Why didn't you say so right away?

This time, residents of the area took the adventure noticeably less romantically: some are already openly complaining that a huge wild cat should not periodically appear outside their window.

And since July 2024 year, in the Netherlands, new servals are indeed prohibited from being acquired as pets. Those that lived with owners before are allowed to be kept under certain conditions.

So Django is formally domestic.

It's just that, apparently, Django himself never signed this agreement. 😄
