Singapore, Keppel Ltd., and the Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC) have signed a non-binding agreement to establish a sustainable energy supply chain in Asia. This collaboration focuses on renewable energy sources, transmission lines, hydrogen and ammonia production, data centers, and subsea cable networks. Keppel, with its expertise in sustainable solutions and connectivity, will work with JBIC to provide financing and establish business networks. Together, they aim to contribute to achieving carbon neutrality in Asia and promoting economic growth. Keppel has been involved in cross-border trade of low-carbon energy in ASEAN countries, as well as clean energy projects involving hydrogen and ammonia. It is also developing data centers in Asia-Pacific regions, including Japan, Singapore, and Taiwan, and exploring new submarine cable systems to connect Southeast Asia with other regions.
