The Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC) and Osaka Gas have signed a shareholders' agreement to invest in Clean Max Osaka Gas Renewable Energy (CORE), a joint venture with CleanMax Enviro Energy Solutions based in Mumbai. CORE will develop 400 MW of renewable energy projects, beginning with approximately 300 MW in Karnataka. The initiative aims to supply corporations with reliable clean energy through long-term Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs). Osaka Gas views India as a key market due to its economic growth and intends to expand its energy business by integrating renewable energy projects with existing city gas ventures. Future plans include exploring hydrogen and e-methane projects.
