Reliance Industries Ltd. plans to complete its first giga factory for photovoltaic (PV) modules by March in Jamnagar, Gujarat. Trial runs have commenced at its green energy complex. RIL aims to commission a 10 GW solar PV factory and a 5 GWh annual cell-to-pack battery manufacturing facility. A 20 GW solar power generation project will power green hydrogen production, transitioning RIL from grey to green hydrogen. The company has allocated ₹75,000 crore for five giga factories and aims to reduce green hydrogen costs to $1 per kilogram within a decade. Mukesh Ambani plans to generate 100 GW of solar power by 2030 and achieve net-zero carbon status by 2035. The Dhirubhai Ambani Green Energy Giga Complex is being built on 5,000 acres.
