Airtel africa partners with spacex to expand starlink

Edited by: Veronika Nazarova

Airtel Africa has partnered with SpaceX to broaden Starlink internet service availability across the continent. This collaboration aims to enhance Airtel's next-generation satellite connectivity offerings. Starlink has already secured licenses to operate in nearly two dozen African countries since launching in Nigeria two years ago. The agreement is described as a strategic investment and partnership. It mirrors a previous move in March to leverage Airtel's stores for Starlink kit distribution in India. Airtel operates in 14 African countries, with Starlink currently available in nine of them. Starlink has emerged as a strong alternative to traditional telecom providers in many regions. This is despite higher equipment costs and monthly subscriptions. The partnership promises to extend reliable internet access to more users across Africa.
