Vivo V80 launches in India on 6 October: everything you need to know about the new smartphone
Vivo has officially confirmed the launch of the Vivo V80 in India on 6 October 2026. The exact price has not yet been announced. The device is positioned as the successor to the Vivo V70, aimed at the Indian market and intended to compete in the mid-range smartphone segment.
Battery and performance: a record in the V series. The main trump card of the V80 is a 7200 mAh battery, the largest in the history of the V series. That is 700 mAh more than the V70, which will noticeably increase usage time without recharging. Vivo promises up to 14 hours of continuous navigation or 39,5 hours of local video playback. FlashCharge fast charging at 90 W replenishes 50% of capacity in roughly 30 minutes. The Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 processor paired with up to 12 GB of LPDDR5X memory and UFS 4.1 storage with a capacity of up to 512 GB will ensure comfortable operation.
Display: 144 Hz with extreme brightness. The Vivo V80 will get a 6,59-inch OLED display with a resolution of 1.5K (2750 × 1260 pixels) and a refresh rate of 144 Hz, a record for the series. Local peak brightness reaches 5000 nits, the minimum is just 1 nits, and the screen is capable of displaying 1,07 billion colors. Thin bezels (just 1,25 mm) create the impression of an “all-front screen.”
Cameras: Zeiss optics with Sony sensors. The triple rear Zeiss camera includes: a 50-megapixel main Sony LYT-700V sensor with optical stabilization, a 50-megapixel Sony telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom and stabilization, and a 8-megapixel ultra-wide module. The front 50-megapixel camera with autofocus and a 92° field of view is made for high-quality portraits. The system supports cinematic 4K/60fps shooting and Zeiss portrait modes at 85 and 100 mm.
Operating system and design. The Vivo V80 is the first in the V series to ship with OriginOS 7 based on Android 17 right out of the box. The system will receive security updates for six years. The smartphone is available in three colors: Sunrise Anthem, Horizon Blue and Stellar Black. An additional plus for users in India is 100 GB of free Google One cloud storage for six months.
An important clarification: all the prices indicated and most of the specifications are based on insider leaks and the company’s official teasers, but the final specifications and the Indian price list will be announced only at the official presentation on 6 October. The manufacturer has still not disclosed the exact full charging time or the results of independent camera tests.
